  8.   │ The instructions which follow are applicable to users of Microsoft  │
  9.   │ Windows 3.0 and the ProDesigner II. Please note that the 512 KB     │
  10.   │ ProDesigner II will support the 1024x768 (with 16 colors) and the   │
  11.   │ 800x600 (with 16 colors) drivers on this disk. The 1024 KB          │
  12.   │ ProDesigner II supports all of the drivers on this disk. Attempting │
  13.   │ to install and run the 1024 KB drivers on a 512 KB ProDesigner II   │
  14.   │ will cause the Windows 3.0 display to wrap around the screen or not │
  15.   │ display at all. Please use the appropriate drivers for your         │
  16.   │ ProDesigner II memory configuration.                                │

  18.   │ Please be sure your monitor supports the drivers you wish to run.   │

  23. This addendum supersedes the instructions found on pages 20 and 21 of
  24. the ProDesigner II manual. Please disregard the Windows 3.0
  25. installation information found there.

  27. The ProDesigner II Drivers on this disk contain drivers for several
  28. popular modes, including support for 1024 x 768 with 256 colors. Also
  29. included is a replacement Windows 3.0 SETUP.INF file that will permit
  30. you to change your display options from within Windows 3.0.

  32. Carefully follow the instructions listed below to install the drivers:

  35. Quick Install (These instructions assume you are an experienced user)
  36.  
  37. 1. Install Windows 3.0 in the usual way, selecting the standard IBM
  38.    VGA as your video display adapter.
  39.  
  40. 2. Copy the contents of the ProDesigner II Windows 3.0 Driver Disk to
  41.    your Windows System directory.
  42.  
  43. 3. When you are running Windows 3.0 you may change your display type
  44.    by using the Windows Setup program residing in the Main desktop
  45.    window.

  48. Standard Installation:
  49.  
  50. 1. Use DISKCOPY to make a copy of the Windows 3.0 Setup disk (Disk 1).
  51.  
  52. 2. Return the original Windows Setup Disk to its disk sleeve.
  53.  
  54. 3. Using the copy of the Windows Setup Disk, copy the file SETUP.INF
  55.    from the ProDesigner II Windows Drivers disk to the newly-created copy
  56.    of the Windows Setup Disk.
  57.  
  58. 4. Still using the copy of the Windows Setup Disk, run the Windows 3.0
  59.    Setup program to begin installation of Windows 3.0.

  61. 5. When the configuration list is shown, review it for any changes you
  62.    wish to make. If you wish to change the display type, you may select
  63.    an appropriate ProDesigner II driver from the Display Driver list.

  65. 6. Windows will prompt you to insert the ProDesigner II Windows 3.0
  66.    Driver Disk into your floppy drive to install the requested driver.
  67.    Once the appropriate files have been copied, the Windows Setup
  68.    installation program will continue normally.

  70. 7. After you complete the above steps you can begin using Windows 3.0.
  71.    Once Windows 3.0 is installed you may change your display type by
  72.    using the Windows Setup program residing in the Main desktop
  73.    window.
